    Hello all,

I have a thread running on the GwF at the moment about a leather sling i have.
    https://www.greatwarforum.org/topic/302024-1910-dated-leather-rifle-sling/

It appears to be a 1910 date stamped sling, genuine leather sling, manufactured by butler brothers of Walsall.
The current thoughts are it is an mis-stamped pattern 1914 leather sling produced in 1940 for home guard and home service use and I have had some advice from highly knowledgeable chaps on GWF and the enfield group on Facebook, but for every person that says it’s mid-stamped 1940 there is a person that says it’s correctly stamped as 1910 so I am no clearer tbh, but I am err’ing towards a mis-stamped date

it measures 1-1/4 inch wide and a nominal 43 inches long

So, I wonder if anyone has a leather sling from the same manufacturer that is dated 1940?

    thanks
    Ed
