I've always loved a good 1940s weekend and was gutted when Woodhall Spa cancelled theirs.

I've just learnt that Hanworth Country Park is looking at hosting one next year - 25th & 26th July.

    From their Fb page.......

"We're so excited to announce that Hanworth Country Park will be hosting an incredible 1940s weekend next year!

    Save the dates: 25th & 26th July 2026

    Hanworth Country Park LN4 2DX

Get ready to step back in time for a weekend filled with:

    • Battle skirmishes & re-enactments
    • Authentic period entertainment
    • Vintage traders & stalls
    • 1940s style decor all around
Dressing up in your best 1940s outfit is highly encouraged.

Stay tuned as we reveal more exciting attractions as the event gets closer.

Just had a quick look where it is, only about 10 mins from bomber command in Canwick.

    Hi Rootes75

Not sure if you've seen this post and, if you have, would be interested in attending (vintage military vehicles).

I have no connection to the Park but I miss the Woodhall Spa 40s weekend, and would love this new venture to be a success.

If you could please forward to any other military vehicle enthusiasts, it would be most appreciated.

    Kind regards.
    John.

Has anyone heard anything more about this? It's next month and information on the event appears to be impossible to find. I must say, it doesn't appear to be very well advertised!

    Hi,

I've not seen anything for a while. I received an email in April, saying it was still going ahead. I'll ask for an update and post it on here.

    Best.

It's certainly not been 'over' advertised....but good to see it's still on.

Thanks for the links provided, I didn't see anywhere that tickets were available through ticket source. You just wonder how busy it will be with the lack of advertising? Especially with this being their first event. Still, it's reasonably priced so worth taking a punt. I remember the 1940s weekend at woodhall spa so the bar has been set very high!

We sometimes walk to the country park for breakfast, so we'll definitely give it a go. I'm still trying to find out if you can pay on the day.

So, apparently, you can pay on the day but advised to buy evening dance tickets beforehand.

Thanks for that, much appreciated. I'd only be going for the day anyway as I have young children so pay on the day suits me just fine. Here's hoping for a good event.
