I was just looking around online and came across this site, sadly not updated in ~8 years, by someone who was looking to make a book about the regiment. 1CACR but for any of the historically minded folks here, I wanted to note that his site has the unit war diary in the Archives section - actually for the Squadron, LAD, and Signals squadron.
Thank you Chris, a riddle is now solved the regiment was under British command, 30 Armd Bde of 79 Armd Div until 16 May 45 and among the first Canadian and British troops into Oldenburg, previously recorded as the regiment, now know just it was only A Sqn 3-7 May 45.
I feel like I had picked up that it was under 79 Armoured Div before though I am not sure where. It was the division that made the most sense, since their component units assisted other formations all across 21 Army Group.
You're welcome! It had crossed my mind that after I finish my Archer book someone should really do a proper book on the Kangaroos. Looks like a couple of people have taken a crack at that, though.
