Does anyone know when the 1st Medium Brigade, South African Artillery arrived in North Africa?

And when their 60Pdrs & 6" Howitzers were updated, and what with?

    Many thanks, David.

    1st Medium Brigade

The brigade was formed on 8 February 1940 with two medium batteries that had been part of the Coast Artillery Brigade pre-war. These were 1st, 2nd Medium Batteries, South African Heavy Artillery. It arrived in East Africa at Gilgil by the end of October 1940 and formed part of Force Troops in East Africa. It left for Massawa in July 1941 to depart East Africa. Its personnel were absorbed by the field regiments in the Middle East and 1st Medium Regiment was established in South Africa. It was amalgamated at Potchefstroom with 17th Anti-Tank Regiment, 18th Light AA Regiment and 16th Field Regiment to form a composite regiment of Anti-Tank, Medium and Light AA Troops for 1st Armoured Brigade Group in June 1943. It was disbanded in December 1943.
