So in the 1st Y&L WD for April 1940 is the following comment:

At about 0800 on 27th April enemy troops were observed advancing on the line of the road Kvam-Otta and the left platoon opened heavy LA fire upon the target presented.

So any thoughts on LA.....I'm sure someone might say light artillery but they did not have any guns of any sort in support......

This war diary is typed and so it is definitely LA.

    Hello Airborne Medic,

Does '1st Y&L WD' mean the '1st Yorks and Lancs War Diary' (for Yorkshire & Lancashire) Regiment War Diary(s)? If not, I am confused; as most of the non-Commonwealth members and unfamiliars will be...

There may be people out there that can help you but don't understand the 'lingo'.

    Best,

    Steve.
