262 Field Company, R.E. - Abbreviation: Field Return of Officers (W.3008)

    Army Form W.3008, Field Return of Officers, for 262 Fld. Coy, R.E. (dated, 17 June 1944) contains - under "Appointment Held" - the abbreviations "RO1" and "RO2" (as opposed to OC, 2IC and Platoon Cmd.). See attached,

    Any ideas, please? Thanks, in anticipation.

    It is Recce Officer. Every Field Company or Field Squadron had at least one Recce Officer.
