    The above-mentioned Guardsman was a Stretcher Bearer in C Company during the fighting 23rd April - 6th May.

    He showed conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty throughout this period.

    Under extremely trying conditions, a hot sun and steady enemy Artillery, Mortar and Machine Gun fire which caused heavy casualties, never once did he hesitate or fail to answer the call for assistance to the wounded.

    His conduct was the admiration of all ranks.
