    Escaped January 25 from Berent waited arrival of Allied troops. Pte. CLARKE companion's name, recaptured 3 February 1945 by German N.C.O. Escaped again 15 February 1945 recaptured by German Artillery N.C.O. 9 March 1945. Physically fit. Companion also captured.
