Sidney was married to my Nan at the time of his death.
Without his sacrifice I often wonder if I would be here now.
    RIP Sidney

Thank you both for your replies, they have helped me move on a little, I have written to the writer of the thread you gave for Sydney and added the Gravestone to his folder for me to use later. I have another question that you may help with, with all your knowledge. Sydney was buried initially at a place identified as “Isolated Bippen”, Map ref. Sh N2 MR Woo1429. He was then reburied on the 24th July 1947 in the cemetery he now rests in. Have you any clue where that might be please. Also I do not know how or why he died, as this was in the dying months of the war and cannot seem to nail down where he was exactly, any help would be appreciated. Many thanks again.

The field grave map reference you quoted isn't for Sydney Ridge but for others listed at the top of the page. This is the correct one.
