How, if at all did the Weapons Establishment of the 27th New Zealand Machine Gun Battalion differ from a contemporary British Machine Gun Battalion in 1941/2?
Having checked the Battalion history and the New Zealand issue Small Arms Training manuals, there is nothing that indicates anything different from the four-company establishment with 5 Gun Nos. per gun. Thirty officers and 704 other ranks, organised in battalion headquarters, headquarters company and four machine-gun companies, each composed of three four-gun platoons. from the Bn history.
