I bought a small booklet on ebay written by the OC Major R F Davidson. It describes the formation of the OFP, training deployment and disbandment in 1945 but doesn't go in to much operational detail. I want to research a bit further and find how they operated their Regimental Teams. Can anyone offer any suggestions?

30 Brigade was part of 79th Division operating "funnies", mostly Sherman Crab Flails.

After purchasing the War Diaries through Drew, I have discovered that the three regimental teams operated with the 3 main regiments in the brigade.

    "A" Section with 22 Dragoons
    "B" Section with Westminster Dragoons
"C" section with 1st Lothian and Border Horse.

    Next questions are:

    1. If anyone has a copy of the war diaries for any of these regiments, is there any mention of the RAOC attached to them.
    2. Which REME workshop elements were attached to which regiment.

I've had a look through: "Craftsmen of the Army, a history of REME" and "A history of the RAOC" but no joy, just a brief mention of Hobarts funnies.
I've only looked at references in the index, so will have a closer look at various points in the books to see what I can dig up, but it may be next Thurs/Fri. before I can get back to you.

Well I've had a look through both books, the RAOC history doesn't mention anything, and the REME history has a couple of paragraphs on Hobarts funnies, but nothing specific - no units named.
