I am looking for some help with the circumstances surrounding the death of (328797) Lieutenant David Prosser Davies, Intelligence Corps. He died on 16th June 1944 and was buried at Delhi War Cemetery, India. I am compiling a book on the men who fell in the Second World War from my village - Whitchurch - in Cardiff, South Wales and he is named on the local War Memorial. He was born in Cardiff in 1911. I suspect that his death was due to illness, but have not been able to find anything specific through the internet so far about the cause of death and place. Can anyone help please? Many thanks, Ceri.

Hi, thanks for this. The CWGC info inevitably is light on some specific information, and this particular candidate (one of 230 I am researching), is proving to be quite problematic! Cheers again, Ceri.
The London Gazette. Emergency Commission from the Ranks: To be Second Lieutenant. 5th April 1944. 11005457 Sgt David Prosser Davies (328797).
Ceri Have you looked for a dataset called something like 'Burials in India' in Findmypast. (At least I think it is there but can check when I get in front of my laptop). It had a number of military burials with cause of death, unit etc that included some I was looking for.
Hi, yes, I have had a look at these records, but they do not provide any information that is not available elsewhere, and sadly, nothing that gives any details of the circumstances. Thanks for the suggestion though. Cheers, Ceri.
