    Hello

I am the son of a former 43rd Recce Regiment Trooper.
I have his diary for 1944/45 which may be of interest to those researching the 43rd Recce. Unfortunately I am not sure which squadron he was in.
It is my intention to put the pages on here when I have scanned them.

    Regards
    Navyron58

    Hi Navyron58,

Welcome to the forum. Are you the same Navyron58 who was selling Reconnaissance Journals on eBay last year??

Many thanks for the warm greetings.

I hope the attached may be of interest.
As you will see from the diary my Dad got a bit mixed up with his dates, but I think we can allow him that considering what he and others were going through.

From the excellent book "Record of a Reconnaisance Regiment" it looks like your father was in B Sqn. Lts Banks and Vacha were in 7 Tp, Lt Balsdon was in 6 Tp, Lt Shutler in 5 Tp and Lt Withers in 8 (Assault) troop. Mjr Carter was the Sqn Leader.
    I hope that this helps

    Welcome to the forum.
43rd Recce war diaries from July 1942 to end of February 1943 are summarised online in my blog from 70 years ago - see http://www.chotiedarling.co.uk/my-blog/2012/07/43rd-recce.html and subsequent letters. Do you know when your father joined the 43rd? (You can send for his service records from the Army Personnel Centre - costs c.£30 I think.)
