    Evening Abby,

I forwarded the photograph on to him (Jim) at DLI 1920-46 . As I thought he has lost no time adding it and a small bio of David to his site. He thanks you for the photograph and David Malia can now be found here;-

    151 Brigade N.Africa

Scroll down to 8th DLI at Gazala. :)

Thank you very much for that, and to your humble friend Jim. I really do appreciate it and has definitely touched my heart. - Abby

Just want to add onto Abby’s reply, this is Abbys mother, I wanted to personally thank you myself. I can’t believe after all these years, I’ve finally found out his story, I can’t thank you enough, certainly had me crying, he meant the absolute world to me and now he’s finally recognised. Thanks so much. - Lorraine

Thank you very much from the both of us,

    Abby

    Hello Abby and Lorraine,

I will pass on your thanks to him but I think he will be the one who owes the thanks to yourselves because it enables him to tell another part of the DLI story. :)

He (Jim) said if you would like to write a little personal message or would like him to add one for you (ie Remembered with honour by his loving family especially..................... ) he would gladly add it beneath his bio? Your choice of course :)

I will ask my family what to write for the personal message tomorrow, thank you for that opportunity. I’ve also just been searching on other forums about the 8th D.L.I and found a photo of a group of people and I figured my great grandfather could be in the photo? Although I’ve tried looking for any kind of familiar face and I’ve only seen two that resemble him. Could anyone maybe help?

These were the two people that interested me and my family members the most who could possibly resemble my great grandfather in the photo I posted above a while ago.

    Hello Abby,

Theres no hurry when or if you are ready just let me know. Your G/Grandfather isnt on that photograph I`m afraid. It was taken in 1938 two years before David Malia enlisted. Sorry :(

Thank you again for more information and to Jim. I'm just hoping to maybe find some more photos of him and his battalion, I do have quite a few photographs however they are of him at his wedding, etc.
