The Prime Minister Mr. Winston Churchill visited the Battalion accompanied by the Commander-in-Chief Home Forces (believed General Sir Bernard Paget). He saw Companies doing individual training and practicing Battle Drill in the grounds of Syndall House. At the conclusion of his inspection he spoke to the whole Battalion, complimenting them on their alertness and efficiency. He said that this was the first representative Welsh unit that he had seen this War.

Prior to Mr. Churchill's visit to the Brigade Command, Brigadier Duncan-Smith carried out an administrative inspection of the Battalion, assisted by his staff.

Lieutenant P.P. Rowlands (121900) posted to 164 Officer Cadet Training Unit, as an instructor
