Thanks all. Dads name was John William Mumby, known also as Jack or Pip. He was a Bren gunner in a Carrier with the 53rd, A or C sqn.

The 2nd picture down, on the back read 7 troop A squad, 53rd. I think they were the first met up with the Yanks at Falaise?

To add to my other pictures of dad I found a couple more . The one with the carrier is in Dusseldorf or Solingen after the end of the war , and the other is Solingen dated 1945 .
