4th Dorset went indeed across the river (another further publication).

I have sent your questions to a number of people, it will be in the next issue (after this one) Friends of the Airborne Museum newsletter, if anything turns up I will let you known.

    Hi Paul

    i have dug out a book: 112th (WESSEX) Field Regiment RA,TA. 1939-1946.

Written by Douglas Goddard, Eric Rankin and James Vigers. I see your name is mentioned!, in help to get the book up together.
If you have the book, on page 31. There is a piture of 220 BTY May 1944 Eastbourne,in the 5th row, there is a mention of a Fred Harris, i wonder is this my dads brother?.

On the opening page Douglas Goddard has written to me, we did speak over the , those eleven years ago. And tended to think my dad was with the 4th Dorsets as he mentions this in his written peice to me.

Dad and his brother Fred were in , from paper work i have 394th 48th Searchlight Regiment R.E./R.A. Maybe this might help??.

I hope Paul was of some help with the picture too??.

    Hi Owen,
My father who was Polish was conscripted into the German army in 1942, he was wounded in Russia and sent to France in 1944 TO the 276th Infantry Division. He gave himself up to members of the 50th Inf div on 20th August 1944, I am trying to track down where he gave himself up to the 50th Div troops. Would you be able to point me in the direction of any of the 50th Div war diary for the 20th Aug 1944. In his pow record it give Argentan as the place of surrender but I am not sure if this is correct. By the way he returned to Normandy with the Polish 1st Armd Div to fight the Germans.
    Any help would be appreciated.

    My email address is norman.witkowski@apcoa.com

    Regards
    Norman
