    Hi all,

In with my grandfather's medals and bits, I have his lanyard which all men of the 6th Airborne Div Signals were ordered by Lieutenant Colonel Smallman-Tew to make and wear, in the event if captured and E&E was necessary. The men continued to do so after his death but a mortar strike on his jeep 22nd July 1944.
    216 Parachute Signal Squadron.

As I am interested in basing my reenactment uniform on this unit, please can anyone advise if this order was also to be carried out by officers or just the other ranks. Unfortunately, I cannot find any picture's of any officer's in uniform wearing it? If so, would left be worn on the let or right shoulder when worn?

    Many thanks
