    Hi Steve,

A few years ago I was in contact with Lee and it was through him I managed to get copies of the RA War Diaries I was interested in. The last time I spoke with Lee he was doing something different, teaching or writing a book I think. However, I will get back in contact with him over the weekend and see if he can help.
Many thanks and I will let you know how I get on, through postings at whatever I find might help others in the future.
    Best Wishes
    Ann

    Hello Tony,

Thank you for your kind assistance. I have a number of books, the first one being With the East Surreys - in actual fact I do have one spare, forgot I had the first despite its horrific cost, second copy is brand new, never opened if anyone is interested in having this book for their collection.

I don't have the other two, but Dad was in North Africa with the Royal Artillery initially and was transferred to the East Surreys towards the end of the war.

Thank you for getting back to me and I will certainly look at the websites as indicated.

    Best Wishes
    Ann

Hi Ann-what year(s) are you looking for? I already have the two 1943 ones.

Hi Steve, From information gathered my Dad transferred to the East Surreys at the end of 1944 and stayed in Italy/Austria until 1946. I am happy to send you my postal address and money for postage and copying if you are happy you share.
Trust I have posted this in the right place now?
    Kind regards
    Ann

    Hi Ann

Unfortunately the National Archives has shut until at least the end of May. If you get back to me then I'll look at creating an order for you.

    Regards
    Andy

When I was a CQMS I wore a crown over three stripes. Crown with laurel wreath was the RQMS.
