The 8th air force was one of the most well know squdrans of the war.
It was and amarican squdran with did daylite bombing over europe the lost 3/4 of the force by the end of the war. Also it had the first crew to do 24 missions the aircraft was called memphis bell.

Does anyone have any info about this squdran and the planes in it?

Glamorgan. If you wish to understand the history of the USAAF 8th Air Force, then obtain a copy of Roger Freeman's first class account The Mighty Eighth. It should be able to tell you all about its operations from British bases during the Second World War.

Yep, that's the same Memphis Belle. However, the film starring Matthew Modine et al was "Hollywoodised".

The Memphis Belle still exists and is currently the subject of a major restoration by the USAFM. Memphis Belle Memorial Association - Home

Also, the original Memphis Belle film from the war is regarded as a classic with some of the footage being used over and over again in documentaries, TV series etc.

IIRC, the crew flew their last mission in a different aircraft but don't quote me on that!
