This is from 'Swift and Bold' - The History of the KRRC in the Second World War.

Thought Soren would like this - reminded me of his work.

Nice sketch. The proportion is spot on.

What's Swift and bold? Is it a website where more of these drawings can be seen?

Marcus - it's the Regimental History of the King's Royal Rifle Corps, as I mentioned above.

I see he has a Lee Enfield No 4.
I haven't seen any of those in use in the Desert war, usually it's the Mk III.
Anyone got a pic of one in use in the Desert ?

    Marcus,

Swift and Bold is the translation from Latin of the KRRC motto "Celer et Audax" which appears on the Regimental badge.

    Hi Paul,
Just shows you can't keep us old b*****s down.I have had an interest in WW2 since 1939 when I was a youngster. My elder brother was a member of the 8th Army,1st Btn.KRRC ,from October 1940 until October 1944 when,as a Sgt he was captured at the crossing of the Ronco River at Forlimpopo. The description of that action in Swift & Bold matches exactly his account of the event.

    Regards
    Les
