Hi, i'm looking for information on where this hospital was in oct 1944, my wives farther was stationed there. The only info I have is group photo of officers and B.O.Rs. and he is on there, his name is John Wibberley. We don't have a army number just his name and when he left the army he was a Lcpl. I have been on all sorts of sights but no match. i'm really hoping for any info at all, many thanks for reading this, ian
Ian. If 93 Indian GH was in Italy, I should be able to pin it down. Do you know where in the world he was stationed? Regards Frank
Hi Looks like this chap was in the Royal Artillery before joining the RAMC. According to FMP he joined in 1939. 93 Gen. Hosp. | The National Archives BBC - WW2 People's War - Bob's R.A.M.C. service in the Far East Casualty Details | CWGC On all fronts Searched Ancestry for a RA tracer card but no luck I am afraid. For anything else you will definitely need his service records. Hope this helps Gus
Hello Frank, Thank you for your reply. We don't know where he was stationed as such, all we know is he was in India. I will try and download the photo with the all the staff on it and it does look like it is in India. we are a bit confused as well, after the war he opened up a chemist shop in derby where he was able to talk to the Indian community in there native tongue ,which he said he learnt being in India in the war. many thanks ian.
93 IGH (C) was at Imphal from at least 29/01/45 onwards. I never found a location statement before that date, but it was formed in India in 1943.
