I had previously posted a thread about the identity of some P.O.W.'s who's picture were in my Dad's P.O.W. Logbook.

This weekend I was able to put names to the faces much to my delight. Aubrey Niner, one of the chaps in the pictures contacted me and we talked and exchanged information.

As I learn more about these flyer's I will share it with you.

This is Tich Lockyer who lists his address as 84 Hamilton Road, Chorley, Lancs. I understand he was shot down 22/02/41 flying Spitfire R6598 (1PRU) over Ostend. If anyone can provide further information on this mission I would appreciate it.

In my father's log book Tich has sketched a Spitfire being bounced by 3 Messerschmidt's, presumably depicting his own shoot-down.

    Hi David,

just a minor correction - R6598 was lost on 22/02/41

Lockyer's POW number was 470 and service number 37193.

12 o'clock high maybe able tell who shot him down.

Just been checking the London Gazette - Mr Lockyer was one of the originals! Promotoed to Flight Lt in 1939! Did he say if he was involved in the BoB?

p.s. would you like me to post a query on 12 o'clock high?

I know nothing more than what I have posted. By all means put an enquiry of 12 o'clock high, and post a link please.
