I've recently come across reference to the following in documents relating the WW2 in Italy in 1943, all being associated with US Air Force bomb supplies:

Ordnance Officer III A.S.A.C., (US Army)
Ordnance Officer XII A.F.S.C., (US Army)

I would be interested in knowing how to interpret the respective tags after 'Ordnance Officer' - the roman numerals may well be relevant. Searches on the web so far have been inconclusive, so any help would be much appreciated!

In the same document there is reference to:

Commanding Officer A.F.O.D. #8, (US Army)

I think AFOD translates as 'Army Flight Operations Detachment', but would welcome alternative suggestions.

    Thanks in advance!
