Lots of experts - once again: The tank is dead..... General Dynamics and Rheinmetall: Quoting Mark Twain with a broad grin...

SPz Puma not quite clear whether it is an unorthodox armour upgrade or newly developed urban camouflage
I only go there for a laugh, honestly...but I'm really looking forward to seeing the British Army's new battleships !

Often intrigues me how US collectors, YouTubers etc. looking for more modern armoured vehicles seem to commonly end up with UK gear. Centurion, Chieftain, Scorpion, 432 etc. Whether it's down to a looser export system & that we can (could?) ship stuff with uncut guns and armour, or just our longstanding place as a centre of 'keep 'em rolling' preservationists I don't know, but it is noticeable. Think this one was at 'Battle tanks' as listed multiple times above. He visits there quite often. Etc.
Russia last exported tanks in 2018: 64 unspecified models to Vietnam ( perhaps they have a lot of museum displays of T-34 tanks ? ) UNROCA (United Nations Register of Conventional Arms)
Looks like the 64 was T90s. Wonder if they regret that deal now. https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.ja...etnam/ZnlJK3dHVU9mZ28xajRJVkc5dVI5VFp1cVMwPQ2
I do recall, when I was working on the Conventional Forces in Europe arms control treaty in MOD in the 1990s we got an agitated phone call from Merseyside Police as they had found a dozen M36 Jackson tank destroyers ready for shipment from Liverpool. The paperwork said they were going to the US for museums and collectors... but we feared this paperwork was spurious and they were in fact headed for the Balkans in defiance of UN sanctions. My cry "if they're embargoed and impounded can I have one?" was ignored...
The callous uncaring hand of government! Certainly M36s spotted in Bosnia weren't there. Conveyor belt 'armour' etc. They had plenty of their own locally if memory serves. Chatting to the bloke years back who built his own Challenger 1 from scrap chassis and turret was entertaining. Several visits from slightly alarmed MoD and plod. Much paperwork...
I'm not up on tanks, never have been really. Saw this one being driven by visitors at Cobaton in 2003 Challenger or Chieftain?
As far as Canadian imports from the UK, I know that all three Chieftains went to the Ontario Regiment Museum in Oshawa. It's possible they also bought the other tanks that went to Canada.
This stupid current war is going to be fertile ground for future publishers of armour books. Just reading Ukrainian troops already training in Bradleys, only two weeks after they were announced. To be part of a NATO-shaped brigade with M55S tanks from Slovenia. A truly peculiar 1999-modernised T55 with Israeli armour and the L7 105 gun that was so well-known (and respected for its time) in British tanks. A more mixed-up selection of vehicles than I recall in a long list of previous scrambling-for-equipment conflicts. Seems like WW2-era machines finally faded from modern battlefields, but immediate postwar stuff still finding a place. Writers of books: Begin compiling lists and notes now. It's getting complicated. (Far more interesting lists than the grisly loss-lists that so fascinated at the beginning, and now make me feel a little queasy.)
For a change again something with WW2 reference: Type 95 Light Tank discovered on Peleliu Island https://www.reddit.com/r/TankPorn/comments/10cfn44/type_95_light_tank_discovered_on_peleliu_island/
Thing I liked about that story was how there seemed to be a modicum of proper archaeology going on while looking for remains. The tanks secondary, but hopefully pretty well-recorded. As opposed to the usual 'chaps with excavator dragging something out.' Maybe we'll see a proper report on the dig one day, though I've a feeling as it's a Japanese effort regarding WW2 servicemen not much will emerge in a public manner.
