In the media today there was much talk about the young man who was prevented from taking photos at a military parade.

Today's Times had quite a piece about it but I'm too lazy to find the article so the Daily Mail will have to suffice.

Jules Mattsson compensated after police inspector photo outburst at military parade | Mail Online

As someone who has taken, I would guess, hundreds of thousands of photos during his lifetime (see below), I deplored the actions of the police officer concerned and was mentally cheering the compensation that the young chap had received when a nasty thought entered my mind.

Where does the compensation money eventually come from ?

Not so happy taxpayer in Cockfosters :(

    Just a couple of points:

I love the squaddies laughing in the background and someone tell him to get his hands out of his pockets !

I suspect he maybe a student officer that refused to back down in an attempt to not loose face....He doesn't really appear to know what he's on about regarding the law. Then again it is the Met ;)

    Andy,

    I have to agree.

The money comes out of taxpayers money, indirectly from us!!

The Officer appears to oblivious to the Laws of the land.

I imagine that the Officer will be disciplined, but we may never know.

As an ex Police officer these scenes makes me cringe.

We have that 'poor judgement' type here too but they carry weapons!

Drew - hardly a 'student' officer if he is an Inspector.
Ridiculous behaviour by a Met officer. Photos of the parade appeared in the local papers (I live in Hornchurch, close to Romford) so why should a 15 year old not take some as well?
I hadn't heard anything about this until I saw this thread.

Surely one of the reasons that people fight wars is to prevent this sort of thing?
