I would like to make a 1/35 scale model of a British air raid siren, any idea where I can get the dimensions to build a model.
Tripod or municipal? Tripod is small and municipal is 3 phase and usually attached to a building. Lawrence
There were some big ones around in WWII. I've heard of a German model powered by a DB601 V12. Can't find a reference for that one at the moment but found this cold war era V8 driven model. I imagine Britain had similar ones. Chrysler Air-raid Siren - Wikipedia
Hi Guy's thanks for your help, the type of siren I want the size of is a British WW 2 as per the illustration attached. Thanks
Is this any help: Siren Control Gear I remember these sirens being used in the 50s to call out the Fire Brigade. Tim
There is a little on size in the link under 'Comparative sizes of sirens'. It's not much but it may help if you're really stuck. Tim
or contact the webmaster Document Library This is a photo I took of one, afraid I've no idea of date of manufacture but it's on display at http://ulsteraviationsociety.org/the-royal-observer-corps
Thanks to everyone who took the time to reply to my query, I have put in a request to the Ulster Aviation society, hopefully, they can help. Thanks
