Dave, hopefully this will give you a lift. Whatever folks think of Baker Mayfield, fair play to the fella for putting himself in for this and making the fans day out even more special. Kind regards, always, Jim.
That was great. He's really become a likeable fellow after being a bit of a blowhard his first couple of years. The Manning brothers are trending in the opposite direction for me, not that it matters
Agreed Dave. The non-trials and no tribulations of retired sports stars entering the media, and there's even more media outlets for them nowadays! How many from not too many years back had to take a "real" job akin to an average Joe to make a living. I don't begrudge what the guys or gals can earn nowadays (in contact sports - mostly - careers can be over in a second) but being in the public eye for perpetuity does seem to be the end-all for many. And ln that note it'll be interesting to see how Tom Brady sticks it out media/ownership/NFL rules wise now he's retired from playing (and I admit, never my favourite guy on the turf). I wonder how much hard ball (steady! ) the NFL will have with him on the "you can do one but not the other" side of things. Kind regards, always, Jim.
Patriots v Jaguars on TV live from Wembley. Still don't understand it. At least the US anthem was sung properly by the sailor.
