Interesting article from 'Scotsman' about new archive of appeals against WW1 conscription

Scots' appeals against WWI conscription revealed to public for first time - Scotsman.com

and more on it from National Archives of Scotland site

The records of military appeal tribunals - The National Archives of Scotland

which notes "surviving Military Appeal Tribunal records exist for other parts of the United Kingdom. Those for Middlesex were retained as the sample for England, and are housed in The National Archives at Kew (reference: MH47). For Wales records of the Appeal Tribunal for Cardiganshire are housed in the National Library of Wales in Aberystwyth (reference: CTB3). Other chance survivals exist in local English county record offices (for example Northamptonshire and Staffordshire)."

One wonders whether there are similar papers for WW2 - presumably somewhere ?
