Just a quick & probably silly question.

I am aware that you need to provide a death certificate when applying to MoD for service records of a deceased serviceman under 116 years old, but does this have to be a certified original copy or will a photo copy of the certified copy be ok ?

The Mod site just says death certificate & I assume means an original certified copy, but thought I would check.

Do not send the original as it will be destroyed

they tell you to send a photocopy. A black and white copy will do, you can even scan it and send via email for medal enquiry
