Aquino Tank Weekend 2025 & previous

    Hi all,

I went out to Aquino Tank Weekend last weekend at what was once just called the Ontario Regimental Museum but is now the Canadian Tank Museum (dun dun dah dah!)

I took some pretty large photos of the battle reenactment. This year's theme was Liberation of the Netherlands. I think it gave too much shrift to the Germans, and the commentary was too much about small arms statistics instead of, I don't know, telling us who the Queen's Own Rifles were and what they'd gone through. But, what can you do.

This year for maybe the second time, the local Limber Gunners group had two quads and two 25-pounders to fire blanks. That was pretty good to see.

I thought I'd post some pictures from the event, but also because someone asked, I might post some closer up photos of some of the vehicles, like the Fox armoured car which the museum acquired a few years ago.

Ok, I'm appalled - I don't seem to have a picture set of the Fox :(

This is part of a long range shot (didn't turn out well as you can see) of the Fox and Lynx behind one of the quads. The Fox was the Canadian equivalent to the Humber A/C but with no cannon as I recall, and the Lynx was based on the Dingo, but slightly larger.
