Hi, I´ve just finished Hailey´s "Fligh into Danger" book again and from his bio, I´ve learned that he served in RAF in 1937-1945. However, I was not able to fin any reliable info about his particular assingment, just a general "service in Middle East and Far East". Does anybody know something about squadrons he served with or any other info about his wartime service? Thanks in advance!

You really need to apply for service records

    Not a possible route.

He died in 2004 so it will be 25 years until his full service record is open to non NoK. Until 25 years all that can be obtained is what the OP knows ie he served in the RAF.

All that can be done is to use the gazette to confirm OR number and subsequent Commission entries - use his commissioned personal number 172600

    eg https://www.thegazette.co.uk/London/issue/36462/supplement/1666/data.pdf
