    "This was the only CGM (Flying) awarded to a soldier in WWII and still the only one out of 112 awarded since its inception in 1943" p.210, Wot! No Engines?, Cooper, Alan

    Turnbull was married in 1944 he is photographed with his wife (nee Moore) and mother outside Buckingham Palace 1945, born on 2nd February 1920 he was wounded on Operation Ladbrooke 9th/10th July 1944, he didn't take part in Normandy not sure if he took part in Arnhem he travelled with the Army to Ghana in 1949, he died in Bristol 23rd July 1987.

    Hi. New to this. Just wondered who posted this and why. Lawrence Turnbull was my grandad so I’m just interested to know
