Got back from ten days in Normandy; great trip - a family holiday rather than a battlefield trip, but did manage to get to see quite a few things and had some welcome 'down time' at the gite and on the beach (Omaha Beach of course!). Spent the first night in Bayeux, having called in on Ryes War Cemetery first.
Then it was off to the Gite in the little village of Landes sur Ajon, close to Villers-Bocage. This is the view from one of the upstairs windows. More tomorrow.
Looks like the weather was good while you were there, Paul. I was on a family holiday in Britanny two weeks ago and the weather was dreadful. It varied from rain to showers to torrential rain ! It put a real damper on the holiday.
Paul, Excellent photos as usual from your goodself. Looks like you really enjoyed yourself. Regards Tom
Gott. H. Those pics are beautiful Paul, especially the ones taken at Bayeux Cathedral. The man has a good eye for a photograph .
Remember seeing the 88 in May this year, it was being repainted in a small back yard in the town as we passed. I remember thinking "whats that all about" at the time, now I know. Great pics Rob
What happened to the halftrack where the 88 is now? This must be one of them before and after shots everyone keeps talking about lol
