During World War II it was No 12 Balloon Squadron and later a rehabilitation unit and pay office. With a staff of 600 personnel, the plant flew tethered hydrogen filled barrage balloons in formation to give protective shields from enemy aircraft. </quote> Does anyone know the Units involved or the personnel for the period August-October 1940. Hello Martin No.12 Balloon Centre covered : Eastleigh 24 balloons 924 Sqdn Southampton 50 balloons 930 Sqdn Portsmouth 32 balloons 932 Sqdn Gosport 24 balloons 933 Sqdn. Not knowing the area possibly Titchfield came under one of the above! Any Help? dakota
