While taking a look at a list of VC recipients, I remembered an account I once read about the Battle of Beja (Hunt´s Gap), during the Allied advance on Tunis, specifically the brave sacrifice of 155 Battery, 172 Field Regiment, R.A.

Does anyone know why this modern Thermopylae happened? I must admit that I read that piece so long ago that I hardly remember anything beyond the bare basics.

This sounds more like Battle of Sidi Nsir, which was on the road to Beja, but before Hunt's Gap.
