Are any forum members researching the British Freikorps aka 'Legion of St. George' ? I have quite a dossier on an English born NZ immigrant who joined this group after capture in Greece and actively visited various POW Camps trying to recruit. I'd be happy to share what I have with other researchers. Pete

If you quite a dossier on that kind of thing go right a book. Pay for some research. Eh? We're here to discuss such things, aren't we? There's a bigger freikorps thread somewhere KG, I'll merge this onto it. (edit - two other threads, merged 'em all.)

Thanks von Poop. Actually I am offering what I have to anyone else who might be writing a book on the subject. The material I have is on Roy Nicholas Courlander and includes; a copy of his Service Attestation (Enlistment) Form, Certificate of Discharge following his release from prison, a list of RSHA (Reichssicherheitsauptampt) documents concerning Courlander from an East German archive and including his promotion to SS Scharfuehrer and another awarding him the War Service Cross. Plus an intriguing letter from a retired NZ Army Major who recounts Courlander's actions on the "night he disappeared". I was also able to locate and talk with an ex-POW who was present in Genshagen when Courlander visited on a recruiting drive. Pete

Pete KiwiGeordie, I've been doing quite a bit of research into the BFC (along with a good Canadian friend of mine) for a number of years now, and have been quite succesful up until now in my research into the English and Scottish members, but have hit a stumbling block with the colonial members, basically due to my geographical location, so anything you might be able to provide would be of inestimable interest to me. Likewise if I can help you in any way, please feel free to ask away.
Hiya Fatboy (cool logon by the way) - have you read the digitized files for the Aussie members available at the National Archives of Australia (NAA) site? Brief details are at post 47 of this thread
Hi Dave, sorry about the late reply, I've only just seen your message. Just to clarify, booty refers to the fact that I'm a serving bootneck (Royal Marine), not my buttocks......yeah I have seen, and downloaded them. Interesting docs, but I've not seen anything relating to Voysey / Barker there (I know he was tried here in England), but was hoping that there might have been something relating to him in there. I have scanned a load of the files from the PRO relating to the BFC, so if anyone wants copies of them, feel free to message me.
Couldn't find where we discussed this subject before so I've started a new thread. If other folk can find the original thread, perhaps they can post the link here? The Brits Who Fought For Hitler - YouTube Ron
Good morning Ron, we have lots of snow over here in Brussels. Is this the thread you were thinking about ? http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/prisoners-war/44289-british-pow-collaborators.html

Is this the thread you were thinking about ? http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/prisoners-war/44289-british-pow-collaborators.html Hello Ron, Martin, I created a quite similar topic here, too: http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/prisoners-war/47619-collaborationist-pows.html#post525991 Thanks indeed for sharing, a fascinating subject, quite uncommon at least on the books and sources I read.
This'll be the thread won't it Ron ? http://www.ww2talk.com/forum/axis-units/5926-british-free-corps-freikorps.html I'll merge the threads.
Thanks to all for locating the original threads. More than happy to place my youtube video link here. Ron
Coming a decade late to the party. Kiwi I would be most interested in seeing the material you have for Courlander. Regards, David
David, KiwiGeordie has not been aboard since October 2012, although he could visit without logging in. Try sending a PM to him, assuming the email address used remains valid. Note he could be 82yrs old now.
David -just a correction if I may. David's age is 70. Born 1951. His age on his profile is the correct one, not when he last visited. Lesley
