In preparation for a 'what-if' wargame based on a German invasion of Ireland (the plan did exist, it was essentially a diversion for Operation Seelowe) and the planned British counter-invasion, does anyone have a detailed ORBAT for British forces stationed in Northern Ireland 1940-42? I have one for the Irish Free State army.

Mark, have you seen this site and the link to Northern Ireland District ?

The War Room - Allied Forces

"British Troops in Northern Ireland" (BTNI) is also a useful search and any pictures you turn up showing a three-barred gate insignia are likely to be relevant.
