Can you photograph your local war memorial? (UK)

    Yes, thanks Diane and Peter, it is interesting to put a person behind the memorial so to speak. I wonder what the significance of the chap being dressed as a Roman but the landscape (house) being contemporary?

    While in Wales I also photographed the Carew and Pembroke monuments.

    And here is Pembroke Memorial in the lea of the castle.

    The fourth picture includes the WWI dead as I thought it interesting that a "Nurse" Williams is listed, but her first initial is not given. I am not sure, but I think it is the first female casualty I have seen on a WWI or WWII memorial.

    THE MEMORIAL MENTIONS A CROSS ON A HILL. IT IS CARVED OUT OF THE CHALK AND USED TO BE SEEN FROM THE WAR MEMORIAL. THE VIEW NO LONGER EXISTS, BUT MONEY IS BEING RAISED TO CUT THE TREES WHICH CURRENTLY ONSTRUCT IT.
