Hello All, I have been reading a war diary from 2nd Survey Regiment which mention several Routes (CLUB and RED and MAPLE LEAF). I was able to find an overlay sheet which has a part of those routes mentioned in the area Ypres, Tielt, Diksmuide, St Omer, Montreuil etc. I'm looking for the sheets east and north-east of it which entails the area's covering Oostende, Ghent, Antwerp, Turnhout, Breda, Bergen op Zoom, Middelburg and Vlissingen. Can anyone help me find those sheets? I haven't found them in the diaries I have in my possession. Cheers Remi
Hi Remi, Have you looked at the McMaster digital map archive? e.g. for Ghent: Search results I don't know if you have a particular resolution in mind, but once you have one map image, generally they will have a little chart showing the names of the adjacent maps. That's helpful because those names are the search terms you should use to find the relevant map. Cheers, Chris
Chris C thanks for replying. I think I put my question wrong. I already have those maps which allow me to read these two overlays. I'm looking for the adjacent overlay which indicate how these routes traveled through the rest of Belgium and the south of the Netherlands. Kind regards, Remi
The 4th Survey were also on Club Route. I'll see if there are any indications in their War Diaries. May take a few days to do so. Have you got a copy of Magnelli-Climpson's book on the Survey Regiments? Regards Robin
Hello all, I ran into some luck yesterday and found the traces of Club, Maple leaf, Heart and Diamond routes in the area between Antwerp and Bruges. Currently combing trough the files of 30 and 31 field coys in the hope they have some traces of the areas north and north east of Antwerp. Regards, Remi
If you find any notice of these units using the Antwerp forts, in particular Fort2, please keep me informed.....
