Hi,

I'm quite happy if a book contains a bit of information on an individual I'm pursuing or a clue or two on a location and will leave the bigger picture on wider issues to others.

As for Shakespeare I can't remember the last time I read anything by him but will occasionally dip into the Oxfordian vs Stratfordian (authorship) debate despite it all being way over my head.
