Colour footage of Canadian tankers at CFB Borden

    This is really remarkable footage, to me! I know the story of how we had a few Vickers Light Tanks, and acquired US First World War tanks (their copy of the Renault FT - the M1917) which as the story goes were sold as "scrap metal" to avoid breaking US neutrality.

    But it's another thing to see them being driven around!



    Some interesting points of note:

    The Vickers light tanks are painted in a two-tone scheme - whether that matched up with British I don't know, as I think we had some naive ideas of our own, sometimes proposed by vehicle manufacturers.
