    Hi all.
My great-uncle, George Noakes, joined the Control Commission Germany in 1946, and in 1949 moved over to the High Commission in Bonn until 1954.
I understand he worked on ‘smuggling’ so I’m not sure what division that would have been of all the (fairly amazing) things he did in his life, his time at the CCG/High Commission is completely undocumented from family records.
Does anyone have any ideas where I might be able to locate him? Or have a CCG staff list?
    Thanks!
    Paul

Thanks Dave, all really useful background there - I’ve been through it and even contacted Diana direct - but no names unfortunately… I’m going to rummage through some of the National Archives docs but wondered whether anyone had a staff list or similar….
