Hi, I am trying to find the service number and if a list if available of the parachute course 17 at RAF ring way Gordon Penfold joined KRRC then transferred to the Parachute Regiment. Who took part in Parachutist Course 17, which ran at RAF Ringway in July 1942 - Gordon was then assigned to 4th Parachutist battalion. Who later transferred to B company 3rd battalion Parachute regiment who then went on to take part in operation Market Garden in September 1944. If someone could advise or help with this would be most appreciated. Thank you
Thank you very much. would you know if or how I can get information on his Parachute course 17 ? Regards
JB - Having researched Market Garden for over 50 years I’m afraid that I cannot remember where each specific piece of information came from. As part of my research I work with a small group of like minded people in an attempt to compile a list of those that fought at Arnhem. Information for these lists come from a large variety of sources and are updated/corrected as and when new information comes to light. Sources include meetings and correspondence with veterans and their families, books and other historic documentation, War diaries, Casualty lists, Casualty enquiry files, Parachute course lists, POW records, Escape and Evasion reports, service records, Arnhem Veterans Club membership etc. Sorry that I cannot be more specific
Hi , Thank you very much for your help. If I required more information such as Parachute course lists a better picture than the one I have already of G Penfold would there be a charge ? I think you are definitely the right person for the information I require. Regards J B
