Steve, That is the only page of the MACR and I got it off the www.454thbombgroup.it
I found it on the 454th Bg 738th BS info
I do not have the 19 page document.

My birthfather, Byron C. Howes Jr., was navigator on the Dorothy K. For genealogical reasons I am looking for the precise exhumation and return dates of the "Dorothy K" crew remains. These are not in the MACR report for obvious reasons. Does anyone know where they can be found?

Byron; My uncle, Glen K. Edwards, was Flight Officer on the Dorothy K. While I don't have any precise dates, I can tell you that his reburial service was held in Palo, Michigan on November 27, 1949.

    Hello,

I've found all those dates and places in the Individual Deceased Personnel File of a USAAF T/Sgt flying with the RAF. They're free of charge but require a 12 months wait.

This is the address I last had (2017)

    Department of the Army
Freedom of Information and Privacy Act Office
    US Army Human Resources Command
    1600 Spearhead Division Avenue
    Fort Knox, KY 40122

    Regards,

    Dave

I recently came across an online "article" titled "454th True Stories - Dorothy K" I now have this as a PDF. What is slightly odd is that the crew of the Dorothy K in the article is different then the crew of March 19, 1944. I have seen references that suggest that this was not unusual. Crews did not always end up flying the same bomber on every mission. So, while the article does provide pertinent information on the Dorothy K, it does not shed light on the crew that was aboard on March 19. If anyone is interested in a PDF of this article I would be happy to send a copy.

I am the niece of Roy Francis Coates Jr. who was killed in action 738 Bomber squadron 454 bomb group (H) in March 1944. I am always looking for info about what happened. I would love people to remember him as the real hero he and his comrades were. I have an attached a picture of this handsome Sgt (who my father looked exactly like).

Please share with others looking for info on crew members of this flight. I would really like to know more details and see a photo of the crew and/or the Dorothy K.
