A long overdue update, the effects of Covid cut backs have really affected the Cwgc. The casualties listed below, gallantry awards were not correctly listed when the online commemoration record was created. The fact it has taken many months to make these simple and very cheap changes tells you all you need to know :-

For over eighteen months I have been attempting to get the CWGC to resume correcting and adding gallantry awards to their database. To say I have been unsuccessful would be an understatement, I have complained and been ignored and then promised action would be taken. This reminds of how the the Cwgc reacted to enquires ten years ago.

I have complained to my MP and the MOD who have confirmed what the Cwgc could not, that policy has changed. Unless the MOD or the next of kin make a request no action will be taken. The Cwgc 'does not believe it is realistic proposition to add vast number of entries'

I do remember a time when the Cwgc placed the accuracy of their records as a one of their main priorities. Times in this post Covid world do change and not for the better. I will carry on complaining but as our wonderful government do not want to do anything, I am not hopeful of any real change happening any time soon.

So as I thought I would share with you some of these vast number of entries, in the hope that some good may come of this.
