Researching my father's war history, sadly he died in 1982, I am wondering if anyone has a lead to Gold beach landing tables for end July/early August 1944 or any suggestions as to recollections of those involved?

The Regiment OBRs state that embarkation took place at the end of July and the first recorded event after that was on 1 August when 2827 Rifle Regiment were in France.

Any guidance would be much appreciated.

Thanks to Steve for suggesting this approach.

I don't think there will be landing tables for this period, as it falls into the 'build-up' rather than the planned assault. As they didn't know what craft would survive the assault or any given trip across the channel, a flexible system was set up to match what got back with the next units in line. There is a little bit about BUCO and TURCO here: Operation NEPTUNE. I'm afraid i don't know what, if any records survive of those organisations.

Thanks for this lead, hadn't considered that point about survival of craft.
