Love to see your photos Stan. It all got a bit hectic on the Friday afternoon in Arromanches for me so went for a stroll up the hill to the 360 cinema. Stunning view of the BBMF fly past.
I've put all my Nikon photos from the trip with York NVA onto Flickr: https://www.flickr.com/photos/battlefield_historian/sets/72157644772223890/ The trip was all the more poignant as Roy Rowbotham, one of the veterans, died not long after we got back: http://www.yorkshirepost.co.uk/news/main-topics/general-news/final-trip-to-d-day-beach-is-veteran-s-last-wish-1-6676494
Paul What a way to go: God Bless him. RIP Roy. What is the chateau with gates location? I recognise the rest (Crepon, Gold Beach, Bayeux and Arromanches).
Thank you for posting the beautiful photos Paul. Lovely to see all the Veterans together. Very sad news Roy Rowbotham RIP
The chateau is Chateau La Londe, the 'bloodiest square mile in Normandy'. The veteran featured is Bert Barritt who was wounded in the assault on it on 27th June 1944 while serving with 2nd East Yorks.
