Hello,I have applied for his service records, then out of the blue,my brother was looking for a document, and found them in a old biscuit tin, inside a wardrobe. When my brothers and I were little, dad did not say a lot about the war, but when he did he would tell us about his attemps to escape. He made eight attemps to escape, and was successful at the eighth. I will try to post a copy of his records.
Hello, If your father escaped a lot, he was probably in the work camp at Waldenstein - this was the punishment camp for escapers and troublemakers in Stalag XVIIIA
