The below document is a daily strength return for 56 Infantry Division while at Anzio which shows the pounding the infantry battalions had been through. However my query is whether anyone has any idea on the notation used for the column headings?

"FS" I can probably guess is Fighting Strength. But what is the "C" as it is generally pretty close to "FS" but rarely the same.

More intriguingly what do the "G", "A" and "W" denote?

Prior to going to Anzio the division simply reported a single Officers and ORs return per unit.

FS. May it be Field Strength? Not seen the G, A, or W before! Will have a look at others.
